# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It cooks itself while you nap, run errands, or binge a series without any guilt.
  • The slow cooker turns frozen pierogi into pillowy clouds you'd swear were homemade.
  • One dish feeds a crowd and tastes even better the next day straight from the fridge.
02 -
  • Do not thaw the pierogi first, they'll turn mushy and fall apart instead of holding their shape.
  • If your slow cooker runs hot, check at 3.5 hours to avoid overcooking the edges.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes after turning off the heat, the layers set up and serve much cleaner.
03 -
  • Use a slow cooker liner for truly effortless cleanup, especially if you're making this on a weeknight.
  • Stir gently halfway through cooking if you want a more evenly mixed casserole, though I prefer distinct layers.
  • Double the recipe in a larger crockpot for meal prep, it freezes beautifully in portions.
